Make changes to your lifestyle and start having a healthy diet. Steer clear of caffeine, alcohol and cigarettes, these are all stimulant that can trigger your anxiety attack or even worsen the symptoms. Start doing simple exercises such as brisk walking, jogging or cycling.

Prepare yourself mentally. Feed yourself constructive and positive thoughts.

During An Anxiety Attack
Do not cause additional anxiety to yourself. Acknowledge and accept the degree of anxiety you are experiencing, without trying to force the intensity to go down – if it doesn’t go away, so be it.

Don’t attempt to analyze why your having an attack, thinking too much without a reasonable solution will just make you feel worse.

Do not worry about what will happen to you – nothing will happen to you! Reassure yourself you will indeed survive, no matter how badly you currently feel. Its been medically proven that panic attack cannot harm you. Despite the odd sensations that you maybe feeling, know that you cannot be harm and your certainly not dieing.

After An Anxiety Attack
Even after your regain control of your thoughts and action, be patient with the way you feel. The length of time it takes your body to relax after extreme anxiety is about ten times as long as the time you were feeling anxious. There is no quicker way to reduce general anxiety than having good eating and drinking habits. One of the most easily implemented and effective additions to your diet is fresh water. Water is a great quencher of thirst — but more importantly here — It is a helpful tool as an anxiety cure.

On average‚ most people have a very acidic diet‚ which results in not just a lower resistance to stress but to a variety of serious health problems. Your diet is something you can immediately control and help you build your resources of anxiety cures.

If our internal environment is too acidic‚ this can exaggerate any anxiety we may be experiencing. The body is in a greater state of health when it is balanced internally. For optimum balance you need an 80% alkaline diet. This means concentrating on fruits and raw vegetables using proteins in small quantities for when you need energy. A person with a good diet needs only 50g of protein a day. This should consist of 7 ounces of animal protein (or a vegetarian equivalent) or 36 ounces of good yogurt. The rest of your diet to help eliminate anxiety should be alkaline (should you have a very strenuous or physical occupation you may need more than 50g of protein a day). This question is one that almost all people that suffer with anxiety ask themselves at some point.  Sometimes the questions is Why me?

My understanding of anxiety is that yes some people to be more susceptible than others.  It is also my understanding is that fatigue can be a key trigger to anxiety.  When I say exhaustion, I mean physical, emotional and mental exhaustion.

Today’s life can be hectic and exhausting.  If you never take the time to release the stress of life, it can build up unnoticed until you get blindsided with and anxiety attack.

You will often see a delayed anxiety attack in people that deal with a crisis or traumatic event.  These people seem to deal with the crisis or traumatic event okay but after it is over they can start to develop the feeling of anxiety.  It is almost like you have been in shock and once the experience is over, the anxiety kicks in.

The important thing to remember is that anxiety attacks can be cured.  It is also important to get help sooner than later.

Unfortunately, the long-term alcohol use reduced the levels of the “GBzR” receptor in Patrick’s central nervous system. This actually reduced the anxiolytic function in Patrick’s brain over time. So while in the short-term the alcohol helped him relax, in the long run it actually made everything worse.

Do you remember your first panic attack?

I was 26 when I had my first panic attacks.  I was sitting in traffic on the interstate when I started having this overwhelming feeling of being so uncomfortable.  My heart began racing and I could feel my whole body starting to tense up.

There were also nights when I would wake with anxiety.  Then as I woke in the mornings I would start wondering “am I going to have a panic attack today”.

Help Your Anxiety with a healthy breakfastDo you ever have those days when you have no self control and no self discipline? Some days you eat lots of junk food, then you say well I have already blown it today so I might as well skip the gym today.  Then you decide to stay up late that night and you end up sleeping in late the next morning then you decide skip breakfast, then you end up eating some junk food, then you get upset with yourself and you decide to skip the gym because you are still tired..

Do you see a pattern here.  These are the days when you have no self control and no self discipline and you usually end up behaving in ways that damage your health and your mental health.

This cycle will not cause anxiety, but it can make it worse and harder to stop.

The great thing is you can stop all this crazy behavior and lack of self-discipline and self control, by doing one thing.

Yes,  just one single thing.

I am sure you can do this one single thing.

The one thing you must do us start the day off right.

You need to begin the day with a highly nutritious and healthy breakfast.  Eating highly nutritious and healthy breakfast you will be far less likely to slip up during the rest of the day and do something to ruin your day.

I know from experience that on days when I started out right, when I actually ate a healthy breakfast, I would usually turn down junk food for the rest of the day because I didn’t want to spoil the good start that I’d made.

So what dos this have to do with anxiety and panic?

When you start the day badly nutritionally and cause yourself fall of the healthy wagon, you can almost guarantee that you will slip up emotionally and psychologically.

Thing thing to understand is that this something tat is within your control.

Why not try this yourself?

Tomorrow, do one small thing that improves the quality of the first hour of your day. And stick with it for a week. See what happens. Then add another improvement to your first hour, and then another, and another.

If you fall off the wagon and have a bad day, remember to get yourself back up, dust yourself off and get back on the program.

Baby steps get you there too, eventually.
